The LGBT Equality Alliance Grant and Scholarship Program is made possible by generous contributions and funds raised through annual and monthly events in Chester County, PA. The Program is committed to supporting LGBTQA students with the goal of creating future leaders and activists.
High School GSA Mini Grants
LGBT Equality Alliance is offering mini-grants to Gender-Sexuality Alliance/Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) clubs in and around Chester County, PA. Grants provide funding for club activities, programs, and outreach initiatives. Grants do not cover travel expenses.
Grant requests must have an LGBT focus and include a project and budget proposal not to exceed $1,000. Grants can be submitted anytime throughout the year.
The LGBT Equality Alliance Scholarship is an annual fund awarding ten (10) scholarships valued at $1000 a piece to select high school seniors in and around Chester County.
The award recognizes the growing importance of financial assistance to deserving area LGBTQA students who are active in and supportive of the LGBTQA community. The objective of the scholarship program is to recognize and encourage academic excellence and LGBTQA community involvement, and to offer financial support to meritorious students.
Scholarship recipients are chosen by a competitive selection process and will have clearly demonstrated strong skills in key areas, including academic scholarship, leadership involvement, and community service in their application.
Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee of LGBT Equality Alliance. There will be no student peer review and all application information will be completely confidential. Notification of awards will be made via e-mail to the address listed on the application form and not forwarded to the student’s permanent mailing address. You will be notified by email within 3 weeks of the deadline regarding the status of your application.
Deadline for this application is 5:00pm on May 1, 2017 . Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.
- Students must be a graduating senior in and around the Chester County School Districts.
- Students must submit a completed application.
- Students must demonstrate leadership and excellence through academics achievement and community service in line with the mission of LGBT Equality Alliance.
- Students must plan to be enrolled at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational/technical school.
LGBT Equality Alliance is working with area LGBTQ Diversity Educators to provide Chester County 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations the ability to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ employees and clients through education and training programs.
If selected, LGBT Equality Alliance will organize a training session for your place of work and cover the cost of doing so. There are a variety of trainers we utilize that focus on a variety of LGBTQ-inclusive topics.

Note: Not all organizations will receive a complimentary training, however, we will do our best to provide training to all interested organizations. Additionally, LGBT Equality Alliance only provides an initial training session. If your organization would like to hold annual training sessions, we can provide you with advice and guidance on booking available trainers for follow-up sessions.
